Win Total Wednesdays: AFC West Odds & Trends

Welcome back to our fourth Win Total Wednesday, where we are diving into the current odds and trends of NFL win totals. After previously looking at the AFC East, AFC North and AFC South, we wrap up the conference with the AFC West.

As of June 10, the AFC West teams have made up 16% of the total number of bets and 15% of the total dollars wagered of all win total bets placed at William Hill.

The NFL team that William Hill bettors have been most bullish on regarding its win total resides in the AFC West, and it is not the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The Denver Broncos’ win total opened at 7.5, with the under favored at -120 and the over at EVEN. While the actual win total hasn’t shifted, the over is now priced at -140, as William Hill bettors are confident that Denver will finish with at least eight wins.

The Broncos’ over is getting 99% of the total dollars wagered, the only NFL win total to get 99% on either side for total dollars wagered or total number of tickets. Broncos over 7.5 has also attracted 92% of the total number of tickets, which only trails the Arizona Cardinals’ over 7 at 95%.

No NFL team’s win total has drawn more dollars wagered than Denver’s, and only the win totals for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears have received more tickets. Broncos over 7.5 is the most popular side of any NFL win total for both total number of tickets and total dollars wagered.

Additionally, one Nevada bettor placed $9,756 on Broncos over 7.5 (-125) for a potential total payout of $17,560.80, which is the largest NFL win total bet taken at William Hill thus far.

When looking just at the division, the Broncos’ win total has generated 33% of the total number of tickets and 49% of the total dollars wagered for all AFC West win total bets.

The Chiefs are tied for the highest NFL win total with the Baltimore Ravens at 11.5. That hasn’t stopped William Hill bettors from backing the 2020 Super Bowl winners, as 75% of the total number of tickets and 79% of the total dollars wagered have come in on the over.

The only AFC West team that has seen its win total change, though, is the Los Angeles Chargers. After opening at 7.5 (over -110, under -110), Los Angeles is now up to 8 with the over priced at -115.

The Chargers are last in the AFC West with 59% of the total number of tickets on their over, however they only trail the Broncos within the division with their over drawing 82% of the total dollars wagered.

Finally, the Las Vegas Raiders embark on their debut campaign in the Sin City. While Raiders over 7.5 has received 65% of the total number of tickets, their under is the only one in the AFC West that has gotten the majority of the total dollars wagered at 53%.
