Win Total Wednesdays: AFC East Odds & Trends

Welcome to Win Total Wednesdays, where we’ll be diving into the current odds and trends of NFL win totals. Our first stop: the AFC East.

As of May 20, the AFC East teams have made up 16% of the total number of bets and 13% of the total dollars wagered of all win total bets placed at William Hill.

The Patriots and Bills are tied for the highest win total (9) in the division, yet William Hill bettors are only optimistic about one team exceeding that number.

Buffalo’s over has received 89% of the total number of tickets and 60% of the total dollars wagered. On the other hand, New England’s under has attracted 58% of the total number of tickets and 52% of the total dollars wagered. While the Patriots’ win total hasn’t moved since opening at 9, the under has shifted from -115 to -140.

The biggest win total wager placed on an AFC East team at William Hill was one bettor putting down $2,000 on Patriots under 9 (-125) to potentially collect a total payout of $3,600. Overall, 44% of the total dollars wagered and 34% of the total number of tickets of all AFC East win total bets have been on New England, both of which lead all the teams in the division.

But the AFC East team that William Hill bettors are most bullish on relative to its win total? That title would belong to the Dolphins.

Miami over 6 wins has generated 90% of the total number of tickets and 99% of the total dollars wagered. As of May 20, the Dolphins are one of three NFL teams to get 99% of the total dollars wagered on their over, with the other two being the Broncos (7.5) and Cardinals (7).

William Hill bettors think a bounce-back campaign for the Jets is in the cards as well, as 67% of the total number of tickets and 76% of the total dollars wagered are on New York over 6.5 wins.
