How does the William Hill virtual racing work?

A William Hill virtual racing is an event with graphics that simulate a horse race. The results of each race event are determined by a random number generator. Please refer to the House Rules for more details.

What types of wagers are offered and how do they work?

Win: Bet that your horse will finish first
Place: Bet that your horse will finish either first or second.
Show: Bet that your horse will finish either first, second, or third.
Exacta: Bet on two horses to finish first and second in an exact order (an exacta bet on horses 3 and 5 wagers that #3 will finish first and #5 will finish second)
Trifecta: Bet on three horses to finish first, second, and third in an exact order (a trifecta bet on horses 3, 5, and 7 wagers that #3 will finish first, #5 will finish second, and #7 will finish third

What are the minimum bet amounts?

Minimum bet for win/place/show is $2. Minimum bet for exacta and trifecta is $1.

How often do the virtual races run?

A new race game begins every five minutes during the scheduled hours of operation.

How do I wager and collect winnings?

Place wagers with a Ticket Writer or on a self-service kiosk. Collect winnings at the ticket counter.

Where can I watch virtual races?

At William Hill locations where virtual races are offered, the events are displayed either on a portion of the video wall, on a dedicated screen in the race and sportsbook, or on a race carrel at select locations. Ask a William Hill staff member if you do not see virtual racing.

Who is the voice of the virtual racing event?

The voice is the legendary Tom Durkin, long-time announcer of the Breeders Cup and Triple Crown races on national television and track announcer for the New York Racing Association and other major race meets.

NOTWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY IN THIS AGREEMENT, WILLIAM HILL MAY TERMINATE THIS AGREEMENT WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE IF ILLINOIS EXECUTIVE ORDER 2020-41 EXPIRES, IS TERMINATED, ENDED OR WITHDRAWN, OR HELD INVALID.  

Executive Order 2020-41 states in pertinent part that “During the duration of the Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamations, the provisions in the Sports Wagering Act, 230 ILCS 45/25-30(f), 25-35(f), and 25-40(i) requiring in-person creation of a sports wagering account at a facility authorized pursuant to the Act in order to participate in sports wagering offered over the internet or through a mobile application, are suspended.”
