Win Total Wednesdays: AFC North Odds & Trends

Welcome back to our second Win Total Wednesday, where we are diving into the current odds and trends of NFL win totals. After looking at the AFC East last week, we are onto the AFC North.

As of May 27, the AFC North teams have made up 10% of the total number of bets and 7% of the total dollars wagered of all win total bets placed at William Hill.

The Ravens posted the NFL’s best 2019 regular season record at 14-2, and are tied for the highest win total at William Hill (11.5) with the Chiefs. Yet, William Hill bettors don’t think Lamar Jackson and Co. will be able to replicate last season’s success.

Only the Rams’ win total (83%) has been a more popular under bet in terms of total number of tickets than the Ravens at 75%. Baltimore’s under has also attracted 89% of the total dollars wagered.

Overall, 45% of the total dollars wagered and 36% of the total number of tickets of all AFC North win total bets have been on Baltimore, both of which lead all the teams in the division.

Meanwhile, only one AFC North team’s over has been the majority bet for both total number of tickets and total dollars wagered. Despite last season’s hype train derailing, Browns over 8.5 wins has received 55% of the total number of tickets and 53% of the total dollars wagered.

The Bengals are the only AFC North team whose actual win total has shifted. Cincinnati’s win total opened at 5 (over -135, under +115) and is currently at 5.5 (over -140, under +120). After stumbling to an NFL-worst 2-14 campaign last season, the Bengals’ under has drawn 63% of the total number of tickets.

Total dollars wagered, however, has been a much different story, as the over has gotten 84%. The biggest wager placed on an AFC North win total at William Hill was one bettor putting down $2,500 on Bengals over 5.5 back when it was priced at +110. If Cincinnati finishes with six or more victories, that bettor would collect a total payout of $5,250.

Finally, Steelers over 9 wins has brought in 52% of the total number of tickets, while the under has generated 59% of the total dollars wagered.

Check out William Hill’s latest odds and trends below for the AFC North’s win totals, which are available to bet in Nevada, New Jersey and Iowa. Also, stay tuned for next week’s Win Total Wednesday, as it’ll be the AFC South’s turn.
