Pro Baseball Win Totals: NL West Odds, Trends

Bet baseball with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

Another baseball season is right around the corner, as Opening Day is this week! After looking at William Hill’s 2021 MLB regular season win totals for five divisions, including the other two National League divisions, we wrap things up with the National League West.

Not only do two of the three highest win totals reside in this division, but the NL West also has two of the three teams whose over has attracted at least 85% in both total number of tickets and total dollars wagered.

The Dodgers are the only team with a win total above the century mark, as the defending World Series champions currently sit at 103.5. Los Angeles opened at 104.5 at William Hill before experiencing its drop.

Though they still have the highest win total, the Dodgers are the only NL West team whose win total has decreased. The Padres (92 to 94), Giants (73 to 74.5) and Rockies (62.5 to 63.5) have all gone up by at least a win, whereas the Diamondbacks (75.5) have stayed put at their original number.

With the two-win jump, the Padres stand alone with the third-highest win total, only trailing the Dodgers and Yankees (96). San Diego was first displayed at 92 along with the Braves, who haven’t budged.

The Padres are also one of three teams currently receiving at least 85% of the total number of tickets and 85% of the total dollars wagered on their over. Only the overs for the Royals (91%), Cardinals (90%) and Mariners (90%) have collected a higher percentage of total number of tickets than the Padres (87%). San Diego’s over ranks third in total dollars wagered at 89%, just behind the Angels (93%) and Royals (91%).

One Nevada bettor, however, put down $5,500 on Padres under 94.5 (-110) for a total potential payout of $10,500, which is the largest NL West win total wager taken thus far at William Hill.

Meanwhile, William Hill bettors are also very bullish on the Giants going above their season win total, as San Francisco’s over has drawn 85% of the total number of tickets and 86% of the total dollars wagered.

No MLB team’s win total has generated more tickets on its win total at William Hill than the Dodgers. Yet, bettors aren’t as confident with Los Angeles surpassing its win total like other NL West foes. The Dodgers’ over has brought in 63% of the total number of tickets and 64% of the total dollars wagered.

While the Diamondbacks’ over has snagged 73% of the total number of tickets, their under is the only one in the NL West getting the majority of the total dollars wagered (54%).

Finally, despite being tied for the second-lowest win total with the Orioles at 63.5 (only the Pirates are lower at 58.5), the Rockies’ over has seized 63% apiece for each of total number of tickets and total dollars wagered.
