Total Thursdays: Pro Football Week 6 Odds, Trends for Totals

Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

For the first time this season, overs did not come through in the majority of the Week 5 games in the NFL. In fact, there was an even split between overs and unders. After going 7-7 in last week’s slate, overs are now 43-32-2 (57.3%) overall on the season.

Of the 13 Week 6 games up right now at William Hill, seven of them have totals in the 50s. None are higher than Chiefs vs. Bills, which is currently at 57.5 after opening at 58. The highest total this season came back in Week 3, when the Cowboys and Seahawks closed at 57.

“Buffalo’s been playing high-scoring games, and obviously Kansas City has been a monster on offense,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “The Bills defense also really struggled on Tuesday, the Titans had no problem moving the ball on them. Come Monday, we’re going to need under in that game for a big number.”

The over in Chiefs vs. Bills has gotten 88% of the total dollars wagered as well as 70% of the total number of tickets. The only over that has brought in a higher percentage of total dollars wagered is Packers vs. Buccaneers at 94%.

Not coincidentally, the Packers vs. Buccaneers total has also seen the biggest shift since William Hill released its Week 6 odds. After opening at 51.5, that total has risen 3.5 points to its current number of 55.

Regarding the most popular under bets so far this week at William Hill, only one game’s under is receiving the majority of tickets: Lions vs. Jaguars (54) at 55%. For total dollars wagered, however, William Hill bettors are siding with the under in six games. The Broncos vs. Patriots (45.5) under ranks first with 94% of the total dollars wagered, followed by Texans vs. Titans (53) at 87%.
