Playoff Preview: Odds, Trends for Bucks vs. Hawks G5

Bet NBA with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

One team locked up a spot in the NBA Finals last night, while another will be one game away from advancing to it after tonight.

The Suns eliminated the Clippers in Game 6 behind Chris Paul’s 41 points. Now Phoenix awaits its opponent, as the Bucks and Hawks will break a series tie in Game 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT on TNT.

Milwaukee already announced that Giannis Antetokounmpo (hyperextended left knee) will miss Game 5. On the other side, Trae Young (right foot bone bruise) and Clint Capela (right eye inflammation) are both questionable for the Hawks. Even with Young missing Tuesday’s Game 4, Atlanta was still able to notch the victory after closing as a 9-point home underdog.

The Bucks opened as 3-point home favorites at William Hill for Game 5. The line quickly went down to -2.5 and reached as low as -2. Yet, the spread is now back up to Bucks -3. Milwaukee is -150 on the moneyline whereas Atlanta is +130 to take this road contest. The total has experienced the biggest shift, dropping three points from 218 to 215.

Interestingly, one team is getting the majority of the spread wagers while the other is receiving the majority of the moneyline wagers.

The Bucks have captured 52% of the total number of tickets and 55% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets in Game 5. The Hawks, though, have attracted 67% of the total number of tickets and 60% of the total dollars wagered for all moneyline wagers.

The under has been getting some love as well, as it has reeled in 55% of the total number of tickets and 57% of the total dollars wagered.

Quickly looking at futures prices involving these two Eastern Conference foes, the Bucks are slight -125 favorites in this series against the Hawks (+105). For title odds, Milwaukee (+400) is slightly ahead of Atlanta (+450), though both teams are well behind the Suns at -240.
