Monday Night Pro Football: Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati Preview

Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

Week 15 of the NFL season ends with a second straight AFC North clash on Monday night (8:15 p.m. ET/5:15 p.m. PT on ESPN), with one of those teams chasing the No. 1 seed in the conference.

The Steelers hit the road in the midst of a two-game skid following their 11-0 start. They are currently 14-point favorites in Cincinnati over the Bengals at William Hill after opening at -12. Are William Hill bettors willing to lay the high number despite Pittsburgh’s cold streak?

“They’re more focused on the Bengals’ ineptitude than the Steelers’ recent struggles,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “All the money and all the liability is on the Steelers. We’ll need the Bengals pretty big tonight. This may end up being our biggest decision this week or close to it, Kansas City and Cleveland were in the same ballpark.”

The Steelers are not only drawing 82% of the total number of tickets and 86% of the total dollars wagered for all spread bets vs. the Bengals, but they’re also receiving 91% of the total number of tickets and 90% of the total dollars wagered among all moneyline bets tonight. That is highlighted by one Nevada bettor placing $12,965 on Steelers -12.5 (-110) for a total potential payout of $24,751.35, which is the biggest bet taken for this contest thus far at William Hill.

William Hill bettors are far more divided on the total, which has dropped a point from its original number of 41.5 opener to its current standing of 40.5.

“This total is interesting because [Ryan] Finley may turn the ball over in some bad spots, which could help Pittsburgh score easily,” Bogdanovich said. “Pittsburgh also throws it so much, which is good for an over. It’s just that 40.5 is such a low total, so one or two big plays and you’re there. Obviously it’s such a low total in today’s NFL, so the professionals sure think it’s going to be a low-scoring game.”

The over for Steelers at Bengals has generated 67% of the total number of tickets, yet the under has the edge with 55% of the total dollars wagered.

In terms of player props, one Steelers wideout has attracted notable action in terms of total dollars wagered. William Hill bettors have taken a liking to the over on JuJu Smith-Schuster total receptions, which is currently listed at 5.5 (over -160, under +130).
