Monday Night Pro Football: CHI vs. LAR Preview

Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

It’s not too often that you see a 5-1 NFL team as a 6-point underdog.

That’s the case with the Bears tonight, as they take on the 4-2 Rams in Los Angeles on Monday Night Football on ESPN. Chicago had originally opened at +5.5 at William Hill. The Rams are priced at -260 on the moneyline while the Bears are listed +220.

“We need the favorite tonight, that’s rare. We’ll definitely be rooting for the Rams,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “The Bears are probably the biggest public underdog for this week. The big liability is on the moneyline, we’ll really need the Rams to win outright.

Many William Hill bettors believe Chicago will not only cover, but also pull off the upset. The Bears are pulling in 65% of the total number of tickets and 62% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets against the Rams, as well as 66% of the total number of tickets for all moneyline bets tonight.

The Rams, though, are capturing 62% of the total dollars wagered among all moneyline bets on MNF. That is highlighted by one Nevada bettor putting down $79,632 on Rams -260 ML for a total potential payout of $110,259.70, which is the largest wager as of now at William Hill for this contest.

The biggest Bears wager thus far is another Nevada bettor placing $22,000 on Bears +6 (-110) for a total potential payout of $42,000.

There’s been some major line movement for this game, with the total shifting 2.5 points. After opening at 47, it’s now down to 44.5.

William Hill bettors have been split on the total. While the over has received 53% of the total dollars wagered, the under has drawn 59% of the total dollars wagered.
