College Football Week 15: Early Odds Report

The college football regular season is wrapping up, however there’s no shortage of thrilling matchups on Week 15’s slate. Whether it’s four top-25 showdowns or two undefeated teams facing off against their most hated rival, there’s plenty in store for this Saturday.

Few rivalries in all of sports bring out the type of emotions that Ohio State and Michigan do when it’s the week of “The Game.” Yet, while No. 4 Ohio State is 5-0 and looks like a title contender, Michigan is 2-4 and has been dealing with COVID-19 concerns that caused the team to cancel its game with Maryland this past weekend.

The Buckeyes are currently 29.5-point home favorites over the Wolverines at William Hill for this Saturday’s scheduled affair.

“This is the biggest spread that I can recall for this game,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “Michigan has looked terrible, but if they do play, I think they’ll be motivated to spoil Ohio State’s season. They’re just not nearly good enough to hang. If Ohio State can bury them, they will. It’s a big number, but I don’t think people will have a problem laying the points against Michigan. They just saw Ohio State destroy Michigan State, and they know Michigan State beat this team.”

Out on the West Coast, No. 20 USC will be looking to complete an undefeated regular season against their cross-town rival UCLA. After needing last-minute comebacks to win their first two games, the 4-0 Trojans have cruised by their last two opponents with double-digit victories. Meanwhile, the Bruins are on a two-game winning streak of their own and their biggest loss this season is by only six points.

In the latest all-L.A. clash at the Rose Bowl, USC is a 4-point road favorite at William Hill.

“UCLA’s played well and it seems like they’ve turned things around a bit under Chip Kelly,” said Bogdanovich. “They got their starting quarterback [Dorian Thompson-Robinson] back and just beat a solid Arizona State team on the road. USC wants to go undefeated and wants a good bowl, and UCLA wants nothing more than to derail them. Definitely one of the better games this weekend, and should be well bet.”

The four top-25 matchups in Week 15 will determine bowl positioning and potentially even spots in their conference’s championship game. They are No. 17 North Carolina at No. 10 Miami (-3.5), No. 22 Washington at No. 23 Oregon (-4.5), No. 7 Cincinnati (-12.5) at No. 24 Tulsa and No. 16 Wisconsin at No. 19 Iowa (-1.5).

“Wisconsin just hasn’t looked good lately,” Bogdanovich said. “Iowa’s been on a roll, and I think the money will be on Iowa just with it basically being pick’em right now. So I would think we’re going to need Wisconsin here when push comes to shove.”
