College Basketball Conference Tourneys: Odds, Trends for Thursday’s Key Games

Bet college basketball with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

The madness has already been fully unleashed today, with several of the early college basketball games coming down to the wire with thrilling finishes. But there’s also some fantastic matchups later tonight as well, including two top-25 clashes in Kansas City.

At 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT, No. 11 Kansas and No. 25 Oklahoma will each aim to make the Big 12 tournament semifinals. The Jayhawks enter this contest having won seven of their last eight, including handing No. 2 Baylor its first loss of the season. The Sooners, on the other hand, have struggled of late, losing four of their past five.

Despite the two teams’ recent performances, Kansas is a slight 2.5-point favorite (-140 moneyline) over Oklahoma (+120 ML). The total in this one currently sits at 135.

The majority of William Hill bettors are expecting Kansas to win and cover. The Jayhawks have gathered 76% of the total number of tickets and 71% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets vs. the Sooners, as well as 63% of the total number of tickets and 74% of the total dollars wagered for all moneyline wagers. There’s division regarding the total, though, as the over has accumulated 71% of the total number of tickets and the under has the advantage with 67% of the total dollars wagered.

In the later Big 12 quarterfinal, two ranked squads will engage in a Lone Star State showdown at 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT. The spread is also very tight for No. 20 Texas Tech against No. 13 Texas, where the Red Raiders are displayed at -1.5 along with -125 on the moneyline. The Longhorns are at +105 to pull off the victory and the total is at 134.

The underdog has caught the attention of William Hill bettors here. Texas has generated 66% of the total number of tickets and 55% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets vs. Texas Tech, along with 59% of the total number of tickets and 66% of the total dollars wagered for all moneyline bets. The over has been the most lopsided bet in this game as of now, drawing 87% of the total number of tickets and 94% of the total dollars wagered.

Of the six games featuring top-25 teams that tip off at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT or later, only one of them has an unranked foe as the favorite. North Carolina is 3.5-point chalk (-165 ML) over No. 22 Virginia Tech (+145) in this ACC tournament affair. This total of 140.5 is the highest of any top-25 game tonight.

North Carolina has been a very trendy bet at William Hill thus far. Not only have the Tar Heels attracted 83% of the total number of tickets and 81% of the total dollars wagered for all spread bets vs. the Hokies, but they’ve also seized 89% of the total number of tickets and 97% of the total dollars wagered among all moneyline bets. William Hill bettors are divided on the total, however, as the over has the edge with 60% of the total number of tickets while the under leads the way with 73% of the total dollars wagered.
