NASCAR’s Cup Series is revving up for a midweek race.
William Hill has odds for all 39 drivers who will be competing at the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 tonight at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, as well as nine head-to-head matchups.
Kyle Busch came in second in Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 this past Sunday, and now he’s the favorite at William Hill to win on Wednesday at 4/1. Martin Truex Jr. and Brad Keselowski follow at 11/2 odds apiece, with Denny Hamlin next at 6/1.
Meanwhile, Cup Series points leader and Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 winner Kevin Harvick is tied for the seventh-lowest odds at 10/1. Harvick has been a popular bet at William Hill for this race, as he ranks third in total dollars wagered (10%) and fifth in total number of tickets (7%).
There are drivers further down the board, though, that have created even more betting interest.
Jimmie Johnson has the ninth-lowest odds at 14/1. Yet he’s attracted 12% of the total dollars wagered and 9% of the total number of tickets, which leads the field in both categories.
Besides Harvick and Johnson, the two other drivers who are in the top 5 in both total number of tickets and total dollars wagered are Hamlin and Clint Bowyer (17/1).
Hamlin only trails Johnson by receiving 11% of the total dollars wagered, while Bowyer is close behind at 9%. One Nevada bettor placed a $300 wager on Bowyer 22/1, which would collect a total payout of $6,900 if he can capture the checkered flag. Both Hamlin and Bowyer have gotten 8% of the total number of tickets along with Truex Jr.
There’s one extreme longshot that has caught some William Hill bettors’ attention. Bubba Wallace resides all the way down at 1000/1, and has still grabbed 3% of the total number of tickets. Another Nevada bettor put down a $25 wager on Wallace, and that $25,025 total potential payout is the largest one at William Hill thus far.
