The 36th NASCAR All-Star Race will have a first-time venue for this go-around, as 16 drivers will compete for the checkered flag and a $1 million prize at Bristol Motor Speedway. The event had been held at Charlotte Motor Speedway every other year besides 1986, when it took place at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Tonight’s drivers all were eligible for this race either by capturing a Cup Series championship, winning a past All-Star Race or winning a Cup Series points-paying race in 2019 or 2020. Cole Custer entered the field after his victory at last weekend’s Quaker State 400, where he was a 250/1 long shot at William Hill.
Custer has the third-highest odds at William Hill to win the 2020 NASCAR All-Star Race at 50/1, with only Ryan Newman (75/1) and Justin Haley (150/1) trailing him.
Current Cup Series points leader Kevin Harvick is the 9/2 favorite for tonight’s race, as he looks for his third All-Star victory after first-place finishes in 2007 and 2018. Kyle Busch is next at 5/1, with Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin close behind at 6/1 and 13/2 odds respectively.
The most popular bets, however, are lower down the odds board.
Ryan Blaney is tied for the fifth-lowest odds at 8/1 with Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano. Yet Blaney is first among all drivers with 24% of the total dollars wagered, including one Nevada bettor who placed a $1,000 wager on him at 10/1. That $11,000 total potential payout is the largest one as of now at William Hill for the 2020 NASCAR All-Star Race.
Jimmie Johnson (17/1) holds the record with four NASCAR All-Star Race victories, and he also leads the way with 11% of the total number of tickets to win it once again. Elliott, Hamlin, Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr. (17/2) have each received 9% of the total number of tickets.
William Hill also has seven head-to-head matchups available for this event, highlighted by Harvick (-115) vs. Kyle Busch (-105) and Hamlin (-120) vs. Elliott (EVEN).
