2020 Heisman Trophy Latest Odds, Trends: One Running Back Has Been a Popular Bet

A running back hasn’t won the Heisman Trophy since Derrick Henry did so back in 2015, however several bettors believe that streak will be snapped by another Alabama product this upcoming campaign.

Najee Harris is tied for the 18th-lowest odds on the board at 50/1 with a trio quarterbacks—Penn State’s Sean Clifford, Baylor’s Charlie Brewer and Oklahoma State’s Spencer Sanders. Yet the Crimson Tide senior has snapped up 11% of the total number of tickets, which is the most of any player.

Trevor Lawrence, whose 4/1 price only trails Justin Fields’ 7/2, leads the way with 22% of the total dollars wagered. The Clemson star is edging out Florida signal-caller Kyle Trask’s 21%, who is further down at 30/1. Harris is the only other player in double digits in this category, coming in at 10% of the total dollars wagered.

Besides Harris, Lawrence and Trask, the only other player to rank in the top 5 in both total number of tickets and total dollars wagered is Miami grad transfer D’Eriq King.

Meanwhile, the Heisman favorite Fields has only attracted 3% of the total dollars wagered along with 6% of the total number of tickets.
