UFC 252 Early Trends, Updated Odds: Cormier Drawing Majority of Action in Headliner

A highly anticipated trilogy in the main event and a rising star who comes in undefeated highlight Saturday’s loaded UFC 252 card from UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

William Hill currently has odds up for all 11 fights, with none bigger than heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic duking it out with top-ranked contender Daniel Cormier for the championship belt.

Based off the early trends, William Hill bettors think Cormier will get payback after Miocic won their last bout via a fourth-round TKO in August 2019.

“We opened this at pick’em, and Cormier’s now -115,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “Dollar-wise and ticket-wise, we’re a little high on Cormier. This will be a monster in terms of handle come Saturday.”

Cormier has captured 61% of the total number of tickets and 81% of the total dollars wagered, including one Nevada bettor who placed $11,000 on Cormier -110 for a total potential payout of $21,000.

In the co-main event, Sean O’Malley is riding a 12-0 record into his showdown against Marlon Vera (+260). O’Malley, who is currently the biggest favorite on the card at -320, has attracted 65% of the total number of tickets and 92% of the total dollars wagered.

O’Malley is one of six UFC 252 fighters to receive at least 90% of the total dollars wagered in their respective bouts as of now. Herbert Burns (-275) leads the way in that department, as he’s generated 96% of the total dollars wagered against Daniel Pineda (+235). Burns also ranks first in total number of tickets on the entire card at 71%.

In the prelims, Virna Jandiroba has been generating noteworthy action as well. After opening at -200 against Felice Herrig, Jandiroba has gone all the way up -310. She’s brought in 63% of the total number of tickets and 91% of the total dollars wagered.
