Thursday Night Pro Football: LAC-LV Preview, Trends

Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

Week 15 kicks off in Sin City, as the Raiders host the Chargers tonight in an AFC West showdown.

Las Vegas is currently a 3.5-point home favorite at William Hill, and -200 on the moneyline. Los Angeles is +175 to pull off the outright upset and the total is sitting at 52. The Raiders originally opened at -3, while the total was first posted at 54.5.

“[Mike] Williams is out, Keenan [Allen] being 50% and [Austin] Ekeler’s banged up too, so Chargers are hurting on offense,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “The Raiders need this game and the Chargers are eliminated, so I guess that could be a factor for this line moving. But how can you ignore the Raiders defense which has four starters out from already a subpar unit?”

The favorite has been catching the attention of most William Hill bettors thus far, as the 7-6 Raiders try to make a playoff push.

“By the time this thing kicks off, it’s going to have a nice handle,” Bogdanovich said. “We’re definitely going to need the Chargers, all the early returns are all on the Raiders.”

The Raiders are not only commanding 69% of the total number of tickets and 66% of the total dollars wagered for all spread bets vs. the Chargers, but they’re also generating 60% of the total number of tickets and 52% of the total dollars wagered among all moneyline bets for tonight.

That is highlighted by one Nevada bettor placing $20,000 on Raiders -3 (-125) for a total potential payout of $36,000, which is the largest wager taken for this clash thus far at William Hill.

The 2.5-point swing is the biggest one of any NFL Week 15 total thus far at William Hill. Despite it dropping down to 52, William Hill bettors are still sold on this AFC West affair flying over the total. The over is drawing 71% of the total number of tickets and 75% of the total dollars wagered.
