Pro Football Week 6: Odds, Trends, Notable Bets

Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

Many of the spreads are tighter, but William Hill bettors seem more aligned with how they’re betting the Week 6 games against the spread.

Last Friday, just one side (Rams -7 at Washington) was bringing in at least 80% of both the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered. This time around, there are six such cases out of the 13 Week 6 games currently up at William Hill.

In fact, the most popular Week 6 spread bet as of now at William Hill is on a team that lost its previous contest as a double-digit favorite.

After dropping a rivalry game to the Raiders, the Chiefs opened as 3.5-point road favorites against the Bills for this upcoming Monday night. Now Kansas City is -4.5, with the total for this showdown at 57.5, which is the highest of any Week 6 game.

The Chiefs are capturing 88% of the total number of tickets and 94% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets against the Bills. Kansas City leads in both categories for the entire Week 6 slate.

Two other teams are getting at least 90% of the total dollars wagered: Titans -3.5 vs. Texans with 93% and Packers -1 at Buccaneers with 92%.

While there is plenty of love for the favorites in these Week 6 games, there are a couple of underdogs that stand out as well.

There has not been a bigger spread shift in Week 6 than Bengals vs. Colts. After originally being listed at +9.5, the line has dropped two points with Cincinnati now +7.5.

The Bears are the public underdog this week against the Panthers, and they are now +1.5 after opening at +2.5 in Carolina. Chicago is the only team getting points to generate the majority of the total number of tickets (52%) and total dollars wagered (55%).

The biggest Week 6 spread wager thus far at William Hill has come in on a home underdog. A New Jersey bettor placed $16,500 on Cowboys +1.5 (-110) against the Cardinals for a total potential payout of $31,500. The spread has also moved a point in the direction of Dallas, going from +2.5 to +1.5.

Yet, the biggest Week 6 bet as of now is on the biggest favorite right now on this week’s card. An Iowa bettor placed $66,000 on Dolphins -410 moneyline against the Jets for a total potential payout of $82,097.55. Miami’s moneyline price is now -430 at William Hill.
