Pro Football Week 2 Latest Odds, Trends: Road Teams Getting Love

With 14 games on Sunday and a team making its home debut in its new city on Monday, there’s plenty to look forward to for Week 2 of the NFL season.

In Week 1, there wasn’t a single team that captured 90% of the total number of tickets or total dollars wagered in any matchup. This time around, there’s two that meet that mark in both categories.

There has not been a more popular NFL spread bet at William Hill this week than the Chiefs. The defending Super Bowl champions are now 9-point road favorites against the Chargers after residing as low as -6.5 this past Sunday.

Kansas City has received 96% of the total number of tickets and 98% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets in their AFC West showdown vs. Los Angeles. Those two marks lead all teams for Week 2 action.

The Bills are another road favorite that William Hill bettors are eager to back. The Bills are 5.5-point chalk in Miami, as the spread has risen two points in Buffalo’s favor since Sunday. Buffalo has captured 91% of the total number of tickets and 95% of the total dollars wagered.

Besides Kansas City, only the 49ers’ 92% of the total number of tickets at -7 against the Jets surpasses Buffalo in either category. Additionally, the Bills have drawn the biggest Week 2 NFL wager thus far at William Hill, as a Nevada bettor placed $11,000 on Bills -5.5 (-110) against the Dolphins for a total potential payout of $21,000.

Two underdogs this weekend have attracted the majority for both the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered: the Vikings (+3) at the Colts and the Jaguars (+7.5) at the Titans.

Minnesota has stayed put as a field-goal underdog the entire week despite generating 85% of the total number of tickets and 85% of the total dollars wagered at Indy.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville has shifted from an 11-point underdog vs. Tennessee to its current number of +7.5. The Jaguars have gotten 71% of the total number of tickets and 85% of the total dollars wagered.

On Monday night, the Raiders make history by playing their inaugural game in Las Vegas and are 6-point home underdogs to the Saints. William Hill bettors, however, are siding with New Orleans as of now, as the Saints have brought in 70% of the total number of tickets and 61% of the total dollars wagered.
