Pro Football Week 17: Odds, Trends, Notable Bets

Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

Whether it’s teams fighting for playoff bids or spoiling a rival’s season, there’s plenty on the line in Week 17 of the NFL regular season.

William Hill has odds up for all 16 games taking place on Sunday, but which teams are bettors backing to finish their regular season on a high note?

There are four spreads above a touchdown right now, and those four favorites are all AFC teams looking to punch their ticket into the playoff field.

The biggest favorite in Week 17 is the Colts, who are -14 at home over the Jaguars. The Ravens are the only other double-digit favorite this weekend, as Baltimore is -12 on the road in Cincinnati. The Colts are bringing in 76% of the total number of tickets and 72% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets vs. the Jaguars, while the Ravens have seized 71% and 84% against the Bengals in the respective categories.

The Titans are 7.5-point road chalk over the Texans, and Tennessee is one of five teams to be getting at least 80% for both the total number of tickets (82%) and total dollars wagered (83%) for all spread bets in their game.

The one sizable underdog that is getting support is the Steelers. Pittsburgh is a 9-point underdog to the Browns, who need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Steelers are planning on sitting several of their starters, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Yet, the majority of William Hill bettors are taking the points, as Pittsburgh is collecting 66% of the total number of tickets and 55% of the total dollars wagered.

The most popular spread wager for Week 17, though, belongs to an NFC South matchup. The Saints are a 6.5-point road favorite over the Panthers after opening at -6. New Orleans leads all teams in total number of tickets (89%) and total dollars wagered (97%).

Another NFC contender has drawn the largest Week 17 bet as of now at William Hill. The Packers are 5.5-point road favorites over the Bears, with the former wanting a win to lock up the No. 1 seed and the latter needing a victory to secure a playoff berth. A Washington D.C. bettor placed $19,090.90 on Packers -5.5 (-110) for a total potential payout of $36,446.25.
