Pro Baseball Win Totals: Early Shifts, Notable Bets

Bet baseball with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

From the Dodgers to the Pirates and everyone in between, William Hill has just released its 2021 MLB regular-season win totals for all 30 MLB teams. The minimum number of regular-season games played for action for these win totals is 150.

The defending World Series champion Dodgers managed to get even stronger in the offseason, and their staggering win total of 104.5 reflects that. Yet, no team has drawn more under tickets early on for their win total at William Hill than Los Angeles.

The Dodgers are the only team in triple figures, as the Yankees have the second-highest win total at 96 after opening at 97. Four more teams find themselves in the 90s: the Padres (93.5), Braves (92), White Sox (90.5) and Mets (90).

The Yankees, however, aren’t the only team to have seen an early change to their win total. Thirteen others have seen their win total shift by at least a win, including three that have had two-win alterations.

The two biggest decreases are the Cardinals and Athletics. Oakland has fallen to 86.5 from 88.5, while St. Louis now resides at 86 from 88. Others who have dropped by at least a win from their original number are the Rays (88.5 to 87.5), Brewers (84.5 to 83), Reds (81.5 to 80.5), Cubs (79.5 to 78.5) and Orioles (64 to 63).

Meanwhile, the Royals (71 to 73) have had the biggest increase thus far, with the Padres (92 to 93.5), Tigers (66 to 67.5), Mets (89 to 90), Blue Jays (86 to 87) and Red Sox (77 to 78) also seeing a noticeable move up.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Pirates currently sit the lowest win total of any team at 58. Just five teams in all have a win total south of 70: the Rangers (69.5), Tigers (67.5), Rockies (63.5), Orioles (63) and Pirates.

Four $2,200 bets are already in for 2021 MLB win totals at William Hill, as they’ve come in on Cardinals under 88 (-110), Red Sox over 77 (-110), Royals over 71 (-110) and Tigers over 66 (-110). Each of those wagers have a total potential payout of $4,200.
