The Clippers have fallen into an 0-2 series hole for the third time this NBA Playoffs. Will they turn things around at home in tonight’s Western Conference Finals Game 3 against the Suns at 9 p.m ET/6 p.m. PT on ESPN?

Phoenix picked up a thrilling Game 2 victory thanks to Deandre Ayton’s last-second game-winning dunk. The Suns got another boost ahead of Game 3, as starting point guard Chris Paul is officially available to play. Paul had missed the first two games of the series after entering the NBA’s healthy and safety protocols last Wednesday.

This spread has bounced around a little after opening at pick’em, as both teams have been 1-point favorites at some point. The Suns (-115 on the moneyline) are currently 1-point road chalk over the Clippers (-105 ML). The total has moved even more, shifting from 218.5 to 221.5.

Yet, even though the Suns are favored in Game 3, the Clippers are actually 1.5-point favorites over the Suns on the first-half spread.

“We’ve been seeing this type of discrepancy [between first half and full game] over the past few years,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “The team that’s down 0-2, their first-half line is so skewed, in this case it’s 2.5 points. That’s just the way it’s been lately, the smart bettors have a lot of angles and you have to respect them.”

For full-game wagers, the majority of William Hill bettors are backing the road team. The Suns have brought in 74% of the total number of tickets and 76% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets, as well as 58% of the total number of tickets and 60% of the total dollars wagered for all moneyline bets.

There’s more division on the first-half spread, as the Suns have the edge with 56% of the total number of tickets while the Clippers have the advantage with 67% of the total dollars wagered.

The over has been a popular bet as well for Game 3, as it has snagged 66% of the total number of tickets and 80% of the total dollars wagered. That includes one Nevada bettor laying $22,000 on Suns vs. Clippers over 221 for a total potential payout of $42,000, which is the largest Game 3 wager taken thus far at William Hill.
