NHL Tuesday Preview: Odds, Trends for Slate

Bet NHL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

The action on the ice is heating up on a Tuesday, as we have 13 NHL matchups in store tonight.

For William Hill’s new Michigan bettors—the app launched in the state this past Friday—it’s a chance to bet on the Red Wings game as Detroit takes on the Stars.

The Red Wings moneyline is priced at +180 in Dallas, which makes them tied for the biggest underdog at William Hill tonight along with the Sharks at the Avalanche. The Stars, meanwhile, are listed at -210 on the moneyline and the total for this battle is at 5.5 (over +120/under -140).

The Stars are generating 89% of the total number of tickets and 73% of the total dollars wagered among all moneyline bets against the Red Wings. William Hill bettors aren’t as aligned on the total, however, as the over is capturing 58% of the total number of tickets and the under is grabbing 90% of the total dollars wagered.

On the other end of the spectrum, only one NHL game is currently at a pick’em. The Rangers and Sabres are at -110 apiece for their moneylines tonight in Buffalo. The Sabres opened at -115 before dropping down to -110. A Nevada bettor placed $2,500 on Rangers puckline +1.5 (-250) for a total potential payout of $3,500, which is the largest wager for tonight’s NHL action thus far at William Hill.

Another intriguing showdown takes place in our nation’s capital, as the Islanders face off against the Capitals. Despite Washington leading the East Division in points early on in the season, New York is a -135 road favorite in this one. The Capitals are +115 to pull off the upset.

William Hill bettors are backing the favorite here, as the Islanders have commanded 72% of the total number of tickets and 85% of the total dollars wagered. For the total, the over has received 68% of the total number of tickets while the under has the advantage in total dollars wagered at 83%.

The West Division leader is also lacing up its skates tonight, as the Golden Knights welcome the Blues to Vegas. The Golden Knights have raced out to a 5-1 start, and are at -155 to pick up their sixth win of the season. Vegas went from a -145 opener to -155, with St. Louis moving from +125 to its current number of +135.

William Hill bettors are more in sync with this game. The Golden Knights have gotten 84% of the total number of tickets and 88% of the total dollars wagered, while the under has seized 57% of the total number of tickets and 71% of the total dollars wagered.
