NHL Thursday Slate Preview Odds, Trends Around the League

Bet NHL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

There’s plenty of excitement on the ice tonight, as there are 10 games on the schedule. Let’s look at the latest odds shifts and trends from around the league for tonight’s showdowns.

Two of the biggest moneylines on the board at William Hill have also undergone the most movement.

The Jets opened at -185 hosting the Senators, and are now at -215. The Senators priced at +185 to win this contest, as they’re aiming to improve upon their league-worst 2-11-1 record. On the other hand, the Jets have compiled a 7-4-1 record so far this season.

One sizable underdog that has seen the moneyline shift in its direction is the Red Wings. Detroit opened at +175 on the road against the Predators, and has since swung to +150. Meanwhile, Nashville is now at -170 from -200. These two struggling teams are hoping to improve their fortunes tonight, as only the Senators (-27) have a worse goal differential in the NHL than the Red Wings (-19) and Predators (-15).

Some of the league’s best teams are also in action tonight. In a battle between the two top teams in the Central Division, the 9-1-1 Lightning take on the 7-1-2 Panthers. Tampa Bay is a -165 road favorite, while Florida is listed at +145. The Lightning are the hottest team in the sport right now, winning their last six.

William Hill bettors are heavily backing the road chalk in this Sunshine State clash. The Lightning are bringing in 89% of the total number of tickets and 97% of the total dollars wagered.

The 2020-21 Stanley Cup favorite at William Hill will also look to add another game to the win column. The Golden Knights are also the biggest favorite of any NHL team playing tonight, with Vegas currently sitting at -230. On the opposite side, the Ducks are +200 to steal one on the road against their West Division foe.

William Hill bettors are also strongly aligned for this game, as the Golden Knights are receiving 95% of the total number of tickets and 98% of the total dollars wagered. One Nevada bettor placed $3,000 on Golden Knights -230 for a total potential payout of $4,304.35, which is the largest NHL bet taken for tonight’s action as of now at William Hill.

The tightest line on the board is a pick’em between the Penguins and Islanders. Each East Division team is now at -110 after the Islanders originally opened as a slight -115 favorite. There’s division on this one among William Hill bettors, with the Penguins have the edge in total number of tickets at 54% and the Islanders possessing the advantage in total dollars wagered at 67%.
