NHL Qualifying Series, Round Robin Game 1 Odds Posted

The puck will be dropping shortly, as the NHL season will be resuming in just a couple of weeks.

With several qualifying series and two round-robins between the top-four teams in each conference nearing, William Hill has put up the first batch of game odds for the NHL’s return.

The No. 6-seeded Hurricanes and No. 11-seeded Rangers will be the first game back on the ice as they begin their best-of-five qualifying series in Toronto at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT on August 1. The Hurricanes opened as -135 chalk, while the Ranges are priced at +115. The total is set at six goals, with the under favored at -130.

One William Hill New Jersey bettor is confident that the Rangers can pull off the Game 1 upset, as a $100 wager was placed on Rangers to win by 2 goals at +675 odds. If New York were to pull off the victory by exactly two, that bettor would receive a $775 total payout.

Four other games are scheduled to take place on August 1: No. 5-seeded Oilers (-150) vs. No. 12-seeded Blackhawks (+130), No. 7-seeded Islanders (-115) vs. No. 10-seeded Panthers (-105), No. 5-seeded Penguins (-180) vs. No. 12-seeded Canadiens (+160) and No. 8-seeded Flames (-115) vs. No. 9-seeded Jets (-105).

The next day features two battles between top-four seeds jockeying for the best playoff position. The Bruins are -140 favorites in Toronto against the Flyers (+120), while the defending Stanley Cup ® champion Blues are a -110 pick’em in Edmonton against the Avalanche. Both totals for those contests are currently at 5.5.
