NBA Monday Slate Preview: Odds, Trends, Notable Bets

Bet NBA with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

It’s a new week of basketball, and the NBA tips things off with 10 games tonight.

For William Hill’s new Michigan bettors—the app launched in the state this past Friday—it’s a chance to bet on the Pistons game as Detroit hosts the 76ers.

The Pistons are currently 4.5-point home underdogs at William Hill to the 76ers after opening at +6.5. Philadelphia is -185 on the moneyline, while Detroit is +165 to win this contest outright. The total has shifted too, as it’s dropped half a point from 217 to 216.

William Hill bettors have been aligned on betting this showdown so far. The 76ers have brought in 80% of the total number of tickets and 86% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets vs. the Pistons. Additionally, the over has racked up 82% of the total number of tickets and 64% of the total dollars wagered.

There’s already been some intrigue from Michigan bettors for this game. A pair of $2,000 bets wagers were placed—one on Pistons +6.5 (-110) for a total potential payout of $3,818.18 and another on a parlay of 76ers moneyline and Ben Simmons to score 20 or more points at +350 odds for a total potential payout of $9,000.

Another noteworthy NBA parlay has come in, with a New Jersey bettor laying $1,000 on a 10-leg moneyline one. The legs are Spurs (+130), Nuggets (-125), Magic (-125), Pacers (-140), Celtics (-175), Trail Blazers (-200), 76ers (-250), Nets (-300), Warriors (-380) and Lakers (-800). If all those teams were to win their respective matchups, that bettor would collect a total potential payout of $79,876.54.

The biggest straight bet for tonight’s NBA action at William Hill as of now comes from a West Virginia bettor who put down $3,300 on Bulls +4 (-110) at home against the Celtics for a total potential payout of $6,300. Chicago opened at +5 and reached as high as +5.5 before settling at its current number of +3.5.

Other notable spread moves on tonight’s slate include the Nuggets going from +1 to -2 at Dallas and the Lakers going from -10 to -11.5 at Cleveland.
