Just four teams remain of the original 26 in the inaugural MLS is Back Tournament. They will be competing in semifinal matches as they vie for a coveted 2021 CONCACAF Champions League spot.
There have been a few surprises that have advanced this far, as none of the seven teams who had the lowest odds to win the MLS is Back Tournament at William Hill are still in it.
The Portland Timbers were listed at 17/1 pre-tournament, and are now the +240 favorites to emerge victorious in Orlando. The biggest surprise has been Orlando City SC, who have gone from 40/1 long shots to currently having the second-lowest odds at +260. Minnesota United (22/1 pre-tournament) and Philadelphia Union (25/1 pre-tournament) are at +280 apiece.
One William Hill Nevada bettor has a $150 futures ticket on Orlando City 28/1 for a total potential payout of $4,350, the largest total potential payout as of now for the MLS is Back Tournament.
Portland and Philadelphia will battle on the pitch for the first championship spot tonight at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The Timbers ML is at +150, followed by the Union ML at +165 and draw (tied after 90 minutes plus stoppage time) at +265. For the total, over 3 goals is set at +115 while the under is -135.
On Thursday night, Orlando City’s ML is priced at +145 with Minnesota’s ML at 180, while draw resides at +250. The total in that showdown is at 2.5, with the over favored at -135.
