The Heroes were the only KBO team to sweep their doubleheader on Thursday, as they now are on an eight-game winning streak. First baseman Byung-ho Park hit a dramatic go-ahead grand slam with one out in the ninth inning to give his team a major boost.
KT Wiz (19-25) 19, NC Dinos (30-13) 6; NC Dinos 3, KT Wiz 1 (Doubleheader)
The Wiz lineup sent Chang-mo Koo home early, scoring five runs (four earned) off the Dinos ace in four innings. The Wiz also scored 10 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning of that game, highlighted by outfielder Mel Rojas Jr.’s KBO-leading 15th homer of the season.
Doosan Bears (27-17) 14, SK Wyverns (13-31) 6; SK Wyverns 7, Doosan Bears 0 (Doubleheader)
Wyverns outfielders Kyung-ho Kim and Kang-min Kim combined for 11 hits in 18 at-bats (.611 batting average) in the doubleheader, including a triple and a home run from Kang-min Kim.
Hanwha Eagles (11-34) 9, Samsung Lions (22-23) 2
Eagles starting pitcher Bum-soo Kim struck out seven over six innings and allowed just two runs, as he picked up his second win of the season.
