Iowa State vs. Louisiana Lafayette Preview: Odds, Trends

Iowa State football is back tomorrow!

Iowa State hosts Louisiana Lafayette on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT/9 a.m. PT. This is one of the more intriguing matchups on this weekend’s slate, as a Ragin’ Cajuns team that won 11 games last season will be a worthy adversary for the No. 23-ranked Cyclones.

Iowa State is an 11.5-point favorite (-500 on the moneyline) at William Hill, while the total is currently sitting at 57.

William Hill bettors have been backing the Cyclones against the spread, as Brock Purdy and Co. have received 68% of the total number of tickets and 77% of the total dollars wagered for all spread bets in this matchup. That includes the largest wager taken at William Hill thus far for this contest, as an Iowa bettor placed $3,000 on Iowa State -11.5 for a total potential payout of $5,727.25.

Moneyline wagering has been a different story, though. Louisiana Lafayette (+400) has received 53% of the total number of tickets in that category, while each team has drawn 50% of the total dollars wagered.

Meanwhile for the total, bettors are expecting plenty of points between two potent offenses. The over has generated 65% for both the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered, shifting the total from 56 to its current number of 57.
