GEICO 500: Chase Elliott Attracting Most Action for Rescheduled Race

Forty drivers from NASCAR’s Cup Series were supposed to compete in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Father’s Day, however it was rescheduled to today due to inclement weather.

There were five co-favorites entering Sunday, but two drivers have separated themselves from the pack atop the leaderboard at William Hill. Chase Elliott and Joey Logano each have the lowest odds at 8/1, followed by Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson at 10/1 apiece.

Elliott also leads the way in two other categories for the race, standing alone at 9% of the total number of tickets and 12% of the total dollars wagered.

Three other drivers rank in the top five in each as well: Logano, Keselowski and Kyle Busch (14/1). Logano and Keselowski are right behind Elliott in total number of tickets, as both have received 8%.

Meanwhile, Johnson ranks second in total dollars wagered at 11% with Logano and Busch next at 10%.

The two biggest wagers William Hill has taken on the GEICO 500 have both come in on Johnson. One Nevada bettor placed $5,500 on Johnson 15/1 for a total potential payout of $88,000, while another Nevada bettor put down $1,100 on Johnson 25/1 for a total potential payout of $28,600.

One driver further down the board who has generated noteworthy action is Aric Almirola at 20/1. Almirola has attracted 5% of the total number of tickets and 4% of the total dollars wagered.

Check out William Hill’s latest odds and trends for the GEICO 500, which is available to bet in Nevada, New Jersey and Iowa. You can catch the excitement today at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT on FOX.
