College Football Week 3: Latest Odds, Trends

Whether it’s ranked teams playing in their season opener or the first top-25 clash of the season, Week 3 of college football offers a strong slate.

William Hill currently has odds up for 17 Week 3 matchups, highlighted by No. 18 Louisville hosting No. 17 Miami (FL).

The Cardinals opened as 2.5-point favorites over the Hurricanes, and that’s where the line is now. The spread briefly reached Louisville -3, but was bet back down to 2.5.

William Hill bettors are backing the home team here, as Louisville has brought in 59% of the total number of tickets and 56% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets in this showdown.

The Cardinals have also drawn the two largest wagers thus far for this game, as one Nevada bettor placed $2,900 on Louisville -145 moneyline for a total potential payout of $4,900 and another Nevada bettor put $2,000 on Louisville -2.5 (-110) for a total potential payout of $3,818.20.

A different ranked team, however, has been the trendiest college football bet so far this week at William Hill.

No. 11 Oklahoma State is a 23-point favorite at home against Tulsa after opening at -22. The Cowboys have generated 74% of the total number of tickets among all spread bets in this game, which leads all teams playing in Week 3. Additionally, Oklahoma State has attracted 84% of the total dollars wagered, which currently ranks second to Western Kentucky’s (-14.5) 89% against Liberty.

One team going up against a top-25 foe that has attracted noteworthy action is Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are a 7.5-point home underdog against No. 14 UCF. Yet, the total number of tickets for spread bets in this contest is an even 50/50 split, while UCF has a slight advantage in total dollars wagered at 53%.

The biggest wager taken thus far at William Hill for Week 3’s action has not come in on a spread, but rather a total. A Nevada bettor laid $4,400 on SMU/North Texas under 70 points (-110) for a total potential payout of $8,400. That total currently resides at 69.
