Whether it’s midweek MACtion or a Mountain West game on the island to conclude the Saturday slate, the Group of Five conferences always provide college football fans excitement throughout the week. So how about some excitement during the offseason?
William Hill has released 2020 conference championship odds in Nevada and New Jersey for the Mountain West, American, Mid-American, Sun Belt and C-USA.
Boise State is the biggest favorite of any Group of Five team to win its respective conference championship, as the Broncos are -220 to achieve the feat in the Mountain West for the third time in four seasons. San Diego State (9/2) and Air Force (7/1) follow, while Nevada and UNLV are further down the board at 18/1 and 60/1 respectively.
Over in the American Athletic Conference, Central Florida is the 3/2 favorite despite not appearing in the conference championship last season. Those two participants, Memphis (11/5) and Cincinnati (3/1), are right behind UCF at the top of the board.
Appalachian State has won both of the Sun Belt’s conference championship games, besting Louisiana-Lafayette in each of them. The Mountaineers are -110 to pull off the threepeat, with the Ragin’ Cajuns next at 11/5.
Ohio (5/2) in the MAC and Florida Atlantic (13/5) in C-USA are the other two Group of Five favorites to win their conference championship.
