No opt in is required to protect your bet with Injury Protection, it will be automatically applied to eligible pre-match and live markets.

Injury windows are subject to change. All eligibility and settlement decisions are made by William Hill Sportsbook and are final.
Injury Protection only applies to selections that have not already been won or lost at the time the player leaves due to injury. For example, if your prop selection has already been graded as a win, that will settle as a win even if the player is ruled out following.
The following situations are not covered:
- Players who are scratched, inactive, or listed as out before the game starts
- Suspensions or ejections
- Disciplinary removals
- Coaching decisions (benching, rest, load management)
- Any non-injury-related absence
- Bets that have already been cashed out
- Injuries that occur outside the sport-specific qualifying window as listed above
- If the player returns to participate at any point after leaving, Injury Protection does not apply. The protection only activates when a player is officially ruled out and does not return to the game.
When will Injury Protection be applied to my bet?
Injury Protection will be noted on open bets once a player is officially ruled and does not return to the game, with details being reflected in your bet shortly after the ruling is confirmed. Injury protection will also be available on the bet slip when the bet settles.
How will I know if my bet has been impacted by Injury Protection?
If one of your bets has been impacted by Injury Protection, you will see a shield icon and “This bet is covered by Injury Protection” in the bet slip, along with any other relevant changes to the bet such as a recalculation of an impacted parlay:
If your protected bet is a straight wager, you should also see the stake from the eligible bet returned to your account balance.
Bets that have already been cashed out at the time of a player being ruled out will not be eligible for Injury Protection.
What if I placed my bet with a promotion?
If you placed a straight bet, the bet using a Bonus Bet or Profit Boost, those will be returned to your account for use.
Parlays will be recalculated with the promotion or Reward Credits still included on the bet.
Will injury protection be available for live bets?
Live bets will be eligible for injury protection, however, live bets placed after the timestamp of the injury occurrence will not be eligible.
