2020 Wyndham Championship: Latest Odds, Trends, Notable Bets

The PGA Tour tees off tomorrow from Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 2020 Wyndham Championship features 156 golfers battling with plenty on the line, including spots in next week’s FedExCup Playoffs.

At No. 6, Webb Simpson is the highest-ranked golfer in the world competing in this week’s tournament. Not surprisingly, Simpson is the 9/1 favorite at William Hill to win the 2020 Wyndham Championship after losing by one stroke in last year’s edition to J.T. Poston.

Simpson also is tops in total dollars wagered to win the event at 12%. That includes the largest 2020 Wyndham Championship futures wager taken thus far at William Hill, as a Nevada bettor placed $1,000 on Simpson 10/1 for a total potential payout of $11,000.

Paul Casey (18/1) is next in total dollars wagered at 7%, followed by Patrick Reed (16/1), Harris English (22/1), Ryan Moore (30/1) and Si Woo Kim (35/1) at 5% apiece.

In terms of total number of tickets, a golfer further down the board leads in this department.

At 33/1, Brendon Todd has attracted 6% of the total number of tickets. Todd has finished inside the top-20 in the past two PGA Tour events: the PGA Championship and the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

Justin Rose (22/1) ranks second with 5% of the total number of tickets, with Simpson, Casey and Kevin Kisner (30/1) each having received 4%.

Among the big long shots, a couple have received noteworthy wagers as well. A Nevada bettor laid $319.95 on Adam Schenk 150/1 for a total potential payout of $48,312.45, while another Nevada bettor put $200 on Talor Gooch 125/1 for a total potential payout of $25,200. Those are the two largest total potential payouts as of now at William Hill for any 2020 Wyndham Championship bet. Currently, Schenk resides at 125/1 and Gooch is at 100/1.
