2020 Travelers Championship Odds, Trends: One Longshot Generating Significant Action

The 2020 Travelers Championship tees off tomorrow from TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.

A few golfers have withdrawn from the event, including Brooks Koepka and Webb Simpson, but there’s still plenty of big names participating in this tournament.

Bryson DeChambeau has overtaken Justin Thomas as the favorite at William Hill for the Travelers Championship. DeChambeau is currently listed at 10/1, with Thomas and Rory McIlroy right behind at 11/1 and 12/1 respectively.

DeChambeau leads all golfers in total dollars wagered to win the Travelers Championship at 9%. There’s one longshot, however, who has attracted strong action in this futures market.

Jhonattan Vegas opened at 200/1 and has dropped all the way down to 50/1. Vegas ranks second in total dollars wagered at 7%, including one person who could stand to make a six-figure payday if Vegas finishes in first. A Nevada bettor placed $500 on Vegas 200/1, which could result in a potential total payout of $100,500.

There have been three different $1,000 futures wagers placed thus far at William Hill for the Travelers Championship: one on McIlroy at 13/1, one on Jon Rahm at 20/1 and one on the field at 18/1.

DeChambeau also has captured 5% of the total number of tickets, as has Bubba Watson. Watson, a three-time winner of this competition, has seen his odds shift from 40/1 to 22/1.

Several players have gotten 4% of the total number of tickets—Thomas, Abraham Ancer (22/1), Xander Schauffele (25/1), Collin Morikawa (28/1) and Joaquin Niemann (35/1).

William Hill also has four first-round score props available to bet on Thursday, including DeChambeau over/under 67 and McIlroy over/under 67.5.
