2020 PGA Championship Odds: Koepka Co-Favorite as He Aims for History

The 102nd PGA Championship is the first of three majors taking place in 2020. And there will be a bid for history this week at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California.

Brooks Koepka has won the past two PGA Championships, and will attempt to follow in the footsteps of Walter Hagen to become the second golfer ever to pull off the three-peat for this major. Hagen captured four consecutive PGA Championships from 1924-27.

William Hill has futures odds up for 134 golfers participating in this week’s event, starting with the man with his sights set on the record books.

Koepka currently is atop the board at William Hill to win the 2020 PGA Championship, as he and Justin Thomas are 10/1 co-favorites. Thomas was the last golfer not named Koepka to finish in first for this major, doing so back in 2017. He’s also coming off a win at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitation this past weekend to become the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world.

Rory McIlroy is next at 14/1, with Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm close behind at 15/1 each. Tiger Woods is tied for the 10th-lowest odds at 30/1 along with Rickie Fowler and Collin Morikawa. Woods has won this competition four times (1999-2000, 2006-07), and would tie Hagen and Jack Nicklaus for the most PGA Championship victories ever if he can pull it off this time around.

There have also been a few notable early wagers taken at William Hill.

A Nevada bettor put down $643 on Patrick Cantlay at 28/1 for a total potential payout of $18,647, which is the biggest 2020 PGA Championship futures bet as of now at William Hill.

A trio of $500 bets have come in on Rory McIlroy at 10/1 ($5,500 total potential payout), Xander Schauffele at 25/1 ($13,000 total potential payout) and Gary Woodland at 40/1 ($20,500 total potential payout).

Additionally, William Hill has 36 head-to-head tournament matchups available, including Koepka (-115) vs. DeChambeau (-105) and Schauffele (-150) vs. Woods (+130).

Check out the 40 golfers with the lowest futures odds at William Hill to win the 2020 PGA Championship below, which is available to bet in Nevada, New Jersey and Iowa.
